Today, I set up an appointment with my LLT346 TA to review some material we have learned in class. He was really helpful and it gave me more confidence. We'll see how it goes though. He seems like a hard grader.

Today, I had to tutor for an hour and a half. I originally had dictation planned. She was going to watch a video on YouTube and fill out the missing blanks and also, listen to Jessica Andrew's, "Who I Am", and fill out the missing lyrics. BUT her internet didn't work today, so basically, I had to fill up the extra time. I guess tomorrow's lesson will be taken care of though. My stomach kept making weird noises while I was there. keke.

I am beginning to feel the pressure of everything. Of schoolwork. Of deadlines. Of bills to pay. :(

For all the lazy bums out there that want to create a cute lil' desert for their sweetie on Valentine's Day or just for the heck of it, here is a no-cook, super quick, low calorie, delicious, recipe. Oh yea, you can be single and enjoy this just as much! (I know I did... haha)

4. Enjoy!

Today was no special day, but I gotta say, dinner was awesome. Tonight, I decided to try Dani Spie's Winter Kale Pasta w/ Turkey Sausage except without the pasta. It was amazing! I did not have whole wheat flour, so I just used some chicken broth with corn starch, which didn't do much, but it didn't matter. I really really love the idea of taking the turkey sausages out of the casting and using it sort of like preseasoned meat! When my roommate walked in, he would not stop telling me how great it smelt. hahaha. I was a bia and didn't offer any to him at all. Mainly because, I am saving it for my dinner for the rest of the week.

After Japanese class today, I went to practice reading again at Sakakibara's office. She says now I just have to wait for their reply and see if I am accepted before I go crazy and memorize the entire thing. I also found out that one of the students in my class, "Kool-aid san" did not make it for a Jet interview. That really really sucks. Although, I am secretly happy that he didn't make it, I still feel super bad. It seems like he depended on it. He is not someone I really enjoy talking to. Sort of like the all talk but no action kind of guy. Not to mention, rude and only talks about himself.

Busy Bee! 01/28/2008

Wow, what a day! This morning, I went to the post office to send my application. After that, I went to my field study from 10:00 am till 3:00pm. After that, I went back to the apartment to grab a Kashi bar and headed straight to my meeting with Sakakibara sensei to practice reading my speech. It went pretty well, but I was hoping for more feedback. I guess that's a good thing though, I don't have much intonation/pronunciation to work on. After that, I went to the gym. Then, I came back, ate dinner and headed to Beaner's or should I say Biggby's for my group meeting for the Moon Phase Lesson Plan. Phew! Now, I am chillaxin' in my room. I actually just made some Instant Fat Free and Sugar Free chocolate pudding! Oh boy, is it delicious! I highly recommend it to everyone. I used soy milk.

On Wednesday, Angela is coming to my apartment to take pictures of me. Pretty exciting, but my skin is so bad. Boo! Oh wells.

Today was sort of relaxing, besides going to Fight & Rhythm. Although, I did not get as much of a workout as I liked, it was still nice to go. I really enjoy the boxing portion of Fight & Rhythm.

For dinner, I had salmon salad over warmed veggies. The salmon came in a pouch. It's only 90 calories for the entire pouch. I added some lite mayo and a drop of sesame oil. It was delicious! Yum Yum. I advise anyone to add a drop or two of sesame oil to their tuna or salmon salad. It really gives it that super extra yumminess!

I am officially done editing my speech for the Japanese Speech Contest. I recorded my speech and will send it tomorrow! I am so excited and nervous. I really have to do my best. I know that this is a true challenge. Besides getting ready for the speech contest, I also have so many other things to worry about. Presentations, field placements, application to Broad Partnership, tutoring lessons, the list is endless! I truly believe that college is a vicious cycle, but it's ending soon...just not soon enough I guess.

So I had this major craving for the banana crepes they have in Japan. I, being too lazy to go buy crepes or make them myself, just used the whole wheat tortillas I had in the cabinet. This was so good! To top it off, it's super healthy. Going to run around 200 calories per crepe. (My tortillas are 80 calories per piece) You can eat this for breakfast or desert. I eat it anytime of the day actually.

Ingredients
1 whole wheat tortilla
1 banana (try to eat organic!)
1 tsp honey (again, organic!)
* a sprinkle of ground cinnamon
* a sprinkle of unsweetened dark cocoa powder (I used Hershey's)
* optional ingredients

Directions (10 mins)
1. Heat a large pan on medium heat.
2. Put the tortilla in the heated pan. Heat each side for about 1 min.
3. After the second side had been heated, turn the heat to very low.
4. While the tortilla is still in the pan, slice the banana onto the tortilla. Try to concentrate it on one side of the tortilla. Allow the banana to get a little bit warm.
5. Remove the tortilla with banana onto a plate with both hands.
6. Drizzle honey on the banana slices. Sprinkle some cinnamon and/cocoa powder if you like.
7. Now you're ready to fold the "crepe". It is only three folds. Fold one side, then up, then the other side. It should look somewhat like a triangle or flat cone. Keep for finger there, until the tortilla cools a little bit and it's holding its place.

Today, I woke up on my own at around 10:00am. I slept at 5:00 am, so I thought I would actually sleep till 11:00ish. I ate a lot better today to compensate for yesterday night's potluck. keke. For dinner, I made a bocaburger patty which was delicious, along with some cucumbers, green peppers, and baby carrots. Yum! I lvoed cooked cucumbers. It's so tasty.

So today, I basically did homework and gym all day. I actually got a bit down. I also had my sis pay for my credit card bills which was about $650.00. (-_-;;) I'm so lucky I have an awesome sister. I don't know what I would do without her. I am not spending anymore money, even if it means that I'll be eating canned broth for the rest of this semester! hahaha. I'm sure I will get creative and create some awesome dishes. kekeke. Or I will just stick to my fav of all times, oatmeal!

Hi Hi~ Today I had a practice read of my speech with sakakibara sensei. I was late! I felt so horrible. I left her like 5 minutes to eat her lunch! (-_-;;) I think I got a lot of help from her and I am very grateful for it. I found out that the speech contest is going to be a little more crazy than I thought. I talked to Roy about it yesterday night at convo hour. I'm basically getting more nervous by the day! eek! I also found out from Sakakibara sensei that 2 other students from my class are doing the speech contest! I know that one of them has to be Josh. hmm....

Tonight, I had a potluck at my place! It was so much fun. I made Scallion Pancakes! I got the recipe from Kitchen Unplugged. It actually came out quite nice! It was a little tougher than I intended it to be, but I think it's cause I need more water. I will make sure to make it better next time. Jun, Kellie, Chien, Karen, and Andrew came. We played games afterwards and went to Bubble Island to play Taboo. It was great! I want to invest in that game once I am more financially stable.

I SUCK 01/21/2008

Today was suppose to be a good day. Well, part of it was. I went to celebrate Chinese New Years at Queenie's house. We had a Japanese FEAST. It was so so so good. There was sushi from noble fish, sashimi, seaweed salad, rolled sweet egg, curry beef, rice, miso soup, udon, etc. I was stuffed to my ears in yumminess! (^v^) Good thing I ran before going! hahahaha. I found out that I weigh 114.8 today. Which is not bad, nor super good. I am content.

When I got back to E.L., I found out that I forgot to do one of my homework. Fucken HATE it when that happens. It's a class where I usually go in late too. It's not my fault that the bus is always late and/or full. I want to cry. I feel overwhelmed now. It's too early in the year for this shit. Already projects up the ass. I hate this. I also have the speech to worry about.

Rock The House 01/19/2008

Tonight, I attended Rock The House at Taste of Bangkok Cuisine in Novi. It was so much fun! I went with Doug. After Sunset (the Japan Club band) played one song and then three other bands played. The other bands were really good and they even played one of my favorite Japanese songs called Tsunami by Southern All Stars. I also liked DNA, a rap/hip hop group. They gave use glow sticks and they really "rocked the house".

For dinner, I went with my mom to Edamame Sushi, a new restaurant by China Merchandise and U2. It was decent. The price was not bad. I will probably go there again.
