For those of you who do not know, Coach recently released their new collection called Poppy. It is budget friendly and geared towards a younger crowd. It's like the PINK for Victoria's Secret and the Marc by Marc Jacobs. Totally fantabulous. :D Bright colors and flashy items! :D SO cute. SO SO cute! I have to make a birthday wishlist! <3 meetmark goodies 06/26/2009
I attended a meetmark party last night and received a few goodies. It was really cool, because Bacardi was there. Did you know that you can host your own party with Barcardi sponsoring drinks for free?! If you have at least 40 people attending your party, Barcardi will send their staff and drinks there to teach people to make mojitos for 2 hours FREE. Awesome huh? Since I registered to go, I got a free lip gloss hook-up in glow baby glow and a meetmark ring. So cute! <3 Teeny Haul: The Body Shop 06/16/2009
Today I went to at&t to see if my cell phone is revivable (long story), but turns out I need to buy a new one. UGH. Anyway, at&t is super close to The Body Shop and it was raining really hard, so I decided to stop by just to see what's up (the sale signs were calling my name). There was actually a really good sale there....must be the recession. Anyway, they had a good selection of makeup that was "3 for $10". I was surprised at the stuff they had in this selection. It was nice quality and good colors. So I easily picked three. I ended up getting the Sparkle Eyeliner in 03 (sparkly green), Eye Lustre Pearl shadow in 02 Golden Green, and the Roseflower Blush in 01 pink. I checked out their website and they have this sale online as well, but not everything is there. Swatches and pics below! :) The Sparkle Eyeliner: The pics do not do it justice. The color is a prettier green and really sparkly! The top swatch is of me just dabbing it with my fingers. I would dab this over eyeshadow for a cute sparkling effect! The Eye Lustre Pearl shadow: This was kind of a disappointment. The container comes with a lil sponge applicator. The applicator is super soft but who would use that for eyeshadow?! Besides, it didn't grab much color. I ended up using a mac eyeshadow brush and swirled it vigorously and still didn't get much color. Too bad, cause the pearls look so pretty. :( I think I will use this as a highlighter. The Roseflower Blush: I didn't swatch this yet, because I didn't want to mess up the print. HAHA. BUT, it is soooo pretty in person. The shade says pink, but it looks kinda coral with tiny shimmers. When I opened the lid, it smelt like roses! Smells really nice! :D Can't wait to try it~ :) Pics from Mandy Moore concert 06/16/2009

Recipe: Omuraisu MANWICH style! 06/10/2009
Come check out my new omurice recipe on Nibbledish! I find that MANWICH sauce tastes like the omurice sauce made with ketchup and sugar, so I just used manwich! :D The Restaurant: Hot Doug's 06/09/2009
Last week, I had the chance of trying the infamous Hot Doug's. If you do not know what Hot Doug's is, it's a hot dog joint here in north west side of Chicago a.k.a. 10 minutes from my apt! It is really popular to begin with, but after it was featured on Anthony Boudain's show, No Reservations, the popularity grew tremendously. Besides the "ordinary" Chicago style dog, they also serve a variety of celebrity-named dogs, such as "The Salma Hayek (formerly the Madonna, the Raquel Welch and the Ann-Margret) Andouille Sausage: Mighty, mighty, mighty hot!". On Fridays and Saturdays, they serve the most fattening and delicious fries made in duck fat. Yes, you heard me right. Pure fat delicious duck fat. As a healthy eater, one sniff and look at the hot and fries, I knew I had to indulge this one time. My bf and I got there around 11:00 am and there was already a line around the corner of the shop. Let me tell you though....it was WELL worth the wait. We both ordered "The Dog", which is the most ordinary one and a basket of duck fat fries each totaling to be $10.50 (cash only!). The hot dog bun was soft and not dry at all. The extra poppy seeds were a nice touch. I had mine with everything on it except tomatos and steamed. The dog had a really beefy taste and it was delicious. The fries stole the show though in my opinion. It was SO damn good. So rich in flavor but not too salty surprisingly. Just crisp on outside and oh so delicious. |
